How are You Planning for 2021?

December 30, 2020

4452151

When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, I am a huge believer. There’s so much thought and hope that goes into what the new year will look like.

When I am preparing for the beginning of a new year there is always so much excitement. With that excitement comes dreams, wishes and the process to complete such things. I always begin by preparing my Business Goals. Business Goals set my mindset in a place to where I can start fresh in 2021. I have my income goals, savings goals, accomplishments I wish to achieve and more. Our team sits together every year and prepares many exciting things for our business and most of all, our clients. As a team, coming together to all be on the same page, is a big deal. Our year starts new and so do our thoughts and some business practices.

Next come my Personal Goals. These are always abundant as I have many I hope for each year. My goals for my children, learning, strengthening, enlightening, traveling, exploring, supporting and financial items are just some generals. These go in depth as I sit down and dive deeper into what is best for my family.

One huge thing for me is preparing my calendar. My calendar is utilized every day, multiple times a day. All things I have going on (whether business or personal), go into my calendar. My schedule is prepped and items that I complete on specific days each week are entered at the beginning of the year. Throughout the year this calendar is used to ensure I stay on track for my goals, appointments, etc.

Planning for the new year sets everything into play for me. Putting together, not only my personal goals, but also my business goals, is a huge benefit to what my year will end up being. Not all goals are accomplished and that is OK.

Questions for you:
* If you like to prepare for the New Year, how do you prepare and set goals?
* What are some of your goals for 2021?

We wish you all a wonderful 2021!! If one of your goals involves real estate, please reach out to us, we’d love to help you accomplish your goals!

Temple Lane: Putting the Pieces Together

December 10, 2020

Remodeling feels a lot like a giant, one-thousand-piece puzzle – you see the beautifully finished masterpiece on the cover of the box, then you open the box and dump out all the pieces, and its then that you wonder, will all these little pieces really become my masterpiece?

Now I wouldn’t dare tell you that when you run into those few pieces that are missing or refuse to find their place, you’re not going to feel like maybe you should’ve gone with the smaller puzzle, because you probably will. You will also find that when you persevere and the puzzle begins to come together, no matter what piece you struggled with, you will be so much happier you stayed the course.

We are nearing the end of our new kitchen puzzle, the pieces we have left are small and yet ones that hold a big impact on our final masterpiece. While we look forward to the finish line, we feel incredibly accomplished in having completed so much thus far. From the first thoughts of tearing down a wall for a new kitchen to the first day we were able to wash our hands in our new kitchen sink, the ups and downs were worth it all.

Please enjoy the newest pictures of our project and I will be sure to update you all again when the final masterpiece is complete. And for those of you in the midst of your own remodel, please never give up because all of sudden, BAM, you will find your missing piece!!

42015-Vista-Rd_30

No matter the weather outside, purchasing a vacation property will bring you immediate joy!  42015 Vista Road located in Isle, MN is a charming year round cabin located on Mille Lacs Lake. This is the perfect location for families in the Minneapolis area. In less than 2 hours, this location makes weekend trips an easy getaway.  This property has 54 feet of lake frontage and is fully furnished, including the dock. The converted garage is a separated bunk room paradise for the kids.

Future trips to the family cabin are what memories are made of for children and adults alike. A shelter for yourself, somewhere quiet, and a place to offer warm hospitality to friends.  Owning a cabin is good for your body, mind, and soul. Spending time outdoors, encourages you to disconnect from mobile devices. Even at the times when you are eating smores and drinking wine, you’re engaging in face-to-face social interactions, which have a positive impact on your overall health and well-being.

This can also be an investment; you can create a second income for short term gains. List on Airbnb as an accommodation.

Why the 2021 Forecast Doesn’t Call for a Foreclosure Crisis

November 13, 2020

no_foreclosure-300x300

I was recently reading an article and feel this information, published by Keeping Current Matters, has some valuable points.

As the current forbearance mortgage relief options come to an end, many are wondering if we’ll face a foreclosure crisis next year. This is understandable, especially for those who remember the housing crisis that began in 2008. The reality is, plans have been put in place through forbearance to ensure history doesn’t repeat itself.

This year, homeowners are able to request mortgage relief through forbearance. As forbearance expires, homeowners should stay in touch with their lender, because creating a plan for the deferred payments is a critical next step to avoiding foreclosure.

There are multiple options for homeowners to pursue at this point, and with the right planning and communication with the lender, foreclosure doesn’t have to be one of them. When looking at the percentage of people in forbearance, we can also see that this number has been decreasing steadily throughout the year. Fewer people than initially expected are still in forbearance, so the number of homeowners who will need to work out alternative payment options is declining. This means there are fewer and fewer homeowners at risk of foreclosure, and many who initially applied for forbearance didn’t end up needing it.

If you’re currently in forbearance, or think you should be, because you’re concerned about being able to make your mortgage payments, reach out to your lender to discuss your options and next steps. Having a trusted and knowledgeable professional on your side to guide you is essential in this process and might be the driving factor that helps you stay in your home.

Many homeowners have enough equity in their homes today to be able to sell their houses instead of foreclosing. Selling and protecting the overall financial investment may be a very solid option for many. If you are curious about your current home value, reach out to discuss!

Maple Lake Lot Available to Build Your Dream Home

October 30, 2020

IMG_4151

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a blog about all of the new construction properties going up in and around the Twin Cities area. In addition to all that new construction there are individual lots that are for sale. With these individual lots, there is an expensive amount of opportunity for you to build exactly what you want.

Currently, our team has a beautiful lot in Maple Lake, MN located at 361 Cedar Ave. This lot is for sale for $28,000 and is just under half an acre. A partial survey has been completed in addition to having access to city sewer and water, it is ready for your new home. The opportunities on this lot are are Vast. With this individual lot you are able to build through the builder of your choosing. Many times when you are building new construction you are buying a lot through a specific builder and are required to use that builder to build your new home. Not in this case. 361 Cedar Ave. has potential for you to build a single-family home of your dreams through a builder that you highly trust and worked hard to come by.

If you are interested in building, this lot in Maple Lake, MN may be a great option for you. Maple Lake may be a small town but there are many wonderful things that it encompasses. A couple big ones are the ice fishing derby, typically held beginning of February. And also St. Patrick’s Day, which is a huge celebration for the town of Maple Lake. There are also restaurants close by 361 Cedar Ave. And in addition to all of the above it is a 45 minute drive to downtown and easy access to 94 and 55 so you may get to all of your destinations.

If building is something that you are considering but do not know where to start, please feel free to reach out. Our team has great referrals with an abundance of builders that build custom homes. We would so happily help in making a decision of which builder you would choose to build on 361 Cedar Ave.

New Construction: Working with a Realtor

????????????????

When it comes to new construction many do not know where to start and how a Licensed Realtor can assist through that process.

As a realtor we can sell any type of property whether that be residential, single-family, raw land, to-be-built homes and more. Our team has assisted many clients through the purchase of new construction properties and to-be-built homes through a variety of builders. This process has shown many benefits for our clients. For example, in the past we have had to negotiate the cancellation of a new construction property for a client. In order to get a large portion of their nonrefundable earnest money back, our team fought hard for our client and were able to end the transaction in the best way possible for our client. When purchasing a new construction property there are many different aspects that come in to play when it comes to terms. Builders may offer different options as far as closing costs, finishes, price points on all aspects of the property and other items that may be negotiable within an agreement. We are here to make sure YOU get not only the property that you are wanting but also the smoothest and most comfortable transaction.

Currently in the Twin Cities and Greater Metro areas there is an abundance of new construction going up with an expansive array of builders. Price points and type of property will vary per area and per builder. Here is an idea of price points in a couple different locations:

Maple Lake and surrounding area New Construction Price Points between $234,900-$1,250,000.

Albertville and surrounding area New Construction Price Points between $248,900-$799,600.

Minnetonka and surrounding area New Construction Price Points between $524,900-$1,599,900.

This is just a fraction of the new construction going up here in Minnesota and the price points of said construction. Of course, with different price points comes different finishes, sizes, style of home and so much more. If you are interested in purchasing new construction, let me tell you, that there is a lot that goes into it and we on the Better Living Group are here and happy to assist you through that process. We will ensure you have all the necessary information to make an informed decision on the purchase of a new construction property that best fits your wants and needs in a new and custom home.
